Jennifer Bonaventura enjoys working with texture and unique and interesting surfaces. Her award winning artwork consists of abstract images in geometric, overlapping design which has been internationally collected. The fine art pieces that she creates are best described as mixed media. There is no one techinque to explain, but rather a unique blend of techniques that are used. She experiments with numerous materials to achieve rich surface textures and depth in her work. Artist's molding paste along with interesting papers and tissues are incorporated to build layers. Professional grade acrylic paints including metallic and translucent pigments are used over the collage base. Some of the finishing touches in her work include Caran D'ache (water soluble Swiss made artist's crayons) and prismacolor pencils or pastels. Most pieces also contain areas of gold, copper, and silver leaf.
